Haleakala Classic Day Safari Tour

Enjoy bi-coastal views of the Central Valley as you bike down Haleakala. Ride through the green switchbacks of Haleakala’s western slope on a downhill bicycle.  Maui biking is a great way to experience the island’s beauty.

Before your adventure begins you will be fitted with bicycle helmets and windbreakers for your comfort and tour safety. The safari van takes you to the top of Haleakala Ranch just outside of the National Park entrance at the 6500’ elevation level. Tour Guides will go over a comprehensive safety briefing including Hawaii’s bicycle safety regulations and tour guidelines before you begin your descent down Haleakala.

Maui Mountain Bike Tours gently descend the western slopes of the world's largest dormant volcano.  Two safety stops are made in the switchbacks for rest, rider evaluation  and photo opportunities.  Haleakala safari guides will point out Maui highlights and unique features of the mountain.

There will be a stop at Sunrise Market and Flower Farm for a no host lunch.

At the end of the Maui Downhill adventure, you will receive a safari van tour from Pukalani to the sea.  On this portion of the tour you will learn about pineapple plantation days and the history of Maui’s sugar cane.
